Crystal Gurin founded Creative Media Strategies, Inc. in 2001, following the acquisition of Cybereps by Interep Interactive. Prior to Creative Media Strategies, Gurin was Co-Founder, CMO and EVP of Cybereps, Inc., which grew into one of the top 10 interactive ad sales and marketing companies. At Cybereps, she co-managed a national sales force and provided the creative and managerial leadership for all corporate and client marketing efforts. Gurin was also active in high-level strategic sales and the development of integrated media programs. She created and published Totalwoman.com, turning it into one of the top women’s networks on the web within months of launch, and was instrumental in building eMarketer, IMDb.com and Andover.net into leading media brands in their categories
In the years before Cybereps, Gurin was founding Director of Sales & Marketing at PCTV, producer of The Computer Chronicles and Internet Café television series. At PCTV, Gurin established and ran a successful ad sales organization for two weekly broadcast series and two daily cable shows on technology. She launched The Internet Café, secured international distribution for all series, developed syndicated radio programming, and spearheaded the company’s early entry to the Web.
Gurin has also held senior management and marketing positions at WHYY TV/FM, New Jersey Network (NJN), WITF/TV, Philadelphia College of Art (University of the Arts), and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. She was Co-Founder and President of PTV Reps, Inc., a company formed to work with advertisers to network the nation’s public TV stations. Gurin was also a partner in Epilog Television Productions, developing programming and managing sales activities.
